' underbelly' , a fanzine project for the ' collective consciousnes'exhibition

Inside pages of the fanzine

As part of the creative Consciousness exhibition at the Galway Art centre, I produced a ‘fanzine’ type of magazine which was distributed as a limited edition (100) to the public during the show. All copies were in Black and white and numbered.

My ‘job’ was, as the editor of the fanzine, to gather from each of the willing artspace artists drawings, quotation, pictures, poems, any creative response they wished to have published.

It was basically an opportunity for the public to see how artists think, respond to an idea, or work within an internal process. The idea was to publish drawings, doodles, texts anything thatwe would not necessarily show to anybody, or which would be part of their practise but privately, the ‘underbelly’ of their practice or creative process .
